My statement on the Senate procedural vote today on Impeachment:
Spoke with @BillHemmer and @DanaPerino this morning about what's on deck for Congress in the coming months and the importance of bipartisanship here in the Senate. Thanks for having me!
I want to thank my amazing staff in #Ohio and in DC. We have the best team in the Senate and I’m proud of what we have achieved together on opioids, the economy, trafficking & much more. Looking forward to the next two years.
My statement on the 2022 election and how I plan to finish the last two years of my Senate term strong👇
It provides stability by ensuring that practically every piece of legislation signed into law has some bipartisan support. Eliminating it would have dire and long-lasting consequences for the nation.
At a time when the country needs more bipartisan efforts to solve problems, why would Democrats change their minds and now want to end the Senate supermajority that forces us to work together?
The attack on the US Capitol two weeks ago was an attack on every American.
To that end, we've begun an impartial and nonpartisan investigation to determine what went wrong and what needs to be done to ensure something like this never happens again.
Thank you to the men and women of the Ohio National Guard who answered the call to serve and kept the Presidential Inauguration safe and secure.
I hope President Biden reconsiders his decision to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline.
Otherwise, it will have negative consequences for folks across the nation. It'll eliminate thousands of good union #jobs, raise prices for working families & undermine America’s energy security.
Last year we managed to get a number of crucial AI bills signed into law. The National AI Research Resource Task Force Act, for instance, lays the groundwork for a national cloud computer which will democratize access to supercomputing power for researchers across America.
Good piece from @Nextgov highlighting the opportunity for Artificial Intelligence-related legislation in the coming Congress.
It’s critical that we take steps now to ensure the US remains the global leader in AI.
The Drug-Free Communities Act I authored 24 yrs ago supports a proven, community-oriented drug prevention program.
Our new bill would provide the program w the flexibility it needs to meet the challenges posed by COVID so we can continue fighting youth substance abuse.
The Retirement Security & Savings Act should be a top priority in Congress.
This bipartisan piece of legislation will take significant steps towards ensuring hard working Americans have the savings to retire with dignity and peace of mind.
Retirement security is an issue that touches the lives of every American.
In the coming months, Congress will have a rare opportunity to enact bipartisan retirement reform. Let’s take advantage of it!
Earlier this week, @ToledoPolice Officer Brandon Stalker was shot and killed in the line of duty.
Officer Stalker - who was only 24 years old - leaves behind a fiancée and two young children. Jane and I offer our deepest condolences to his family, friends & brothers in blue.

Happy Birthday Mrs. Lawson!
Keeping drugs out of the hands of our kids is a priority for all of us parents. In some ways, the pandemic has made that task more challenging.
That's why I've intro'd a bill to empower the "Drug-Free Communities program" with the flexibility it needs to combat youth drug use.
Saddened to hear of the passing of baseball great Hank Aaron. He was a trailblazer for Black Americans in professional baseball and overcame hatred and death threats on his journey to break Babe Ruth’s home run record and become a hall of famer.
A few days after the riot, we were devastated by the passing of Capitol Police Officer Howard Liebengood.
Howie was a familiar face here in the Senate & someone I used to see almost every day.
He was a friend to so many of us and we will miss him dearly.
