We will bring the fight! We will prevail! Change is in the air! I can feel it! Thank you to you brave anti #TroubledTeenIndustry warriors & for those that use their platform to help those without one! Watch this movement. #BreakingCodeSilence #ISeeYouSurvivor #SpareTheRod!
This is what I'm talking about @JoeBiden! Thank you! #PrivatePrisons have needed to go for some time! Now for us to do something about private teen prisons or the out of control #TroubledTeenIndustry. Teens matter! Let's #SaveOurTeens #BreakingCodeSilence #SpareTheRod #TTI
@SenSaraGelser @mikemckellutah @jm_miller @davidmfuchs #Utah is an epicenter for this issue. #Missouri laws are changing. #Oregon laws will be changing thanks to you @SenSaraGelser and now it looks like even Utah might see some laws change. Fingers crossed! Excellent work everyone! #BreakingCodeSilence #SpareTheRod #TTI
"One of the driving forces behind that activism was the online movement #BreakingCodeSilence. The group’s top government relations coordinator, Caroline Lorson, applauded the bill as a step in the right direction but said further measures will be needed."
@kenneth_rosen Congratulations on your book's release! I totally forgot to send in an audio clip to NPR and misread the time for the virtual event. However I look forward to reading this book and maybe chatting with you or working with you in the future! #BreakingCodeSilence #TTI
As one who represents survivors of these "facilities" in court, this is definitely worth a listen. @kenneth_rosen @BreakingCodeSi1

And the behaviors and controls that you see when kids leave are because they are too terrified to step out of line. They just want to get out of there. They will do whatever it takes to escape the nightmare they're living in these programs." #breakingcodesilence #ThisIsParis
"Utah is currently home to nearly 100 private youth residential treatment programs. In 2015, the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute surveyed 59 of those programs and found the industry generated $423 million toward the state’s gross domestic product that year alone."
I was not thinking this as I was listening today, although it was frustrating hearing Megan Stokes @NATSAPDC lies (if you liked reforms, you could have done it yourself long ago), but this is a excellent point. Read the whole thread. @1a #BreakingCodeSilence #ISeeYouSurvivor
We continue the fight for #justice for ourselves, our fellow survivors, and for those who lost their fight with the fallout. There is no amount of money or discourse worth hearing them over us. Our priority is preventing more fallout, not promoting discourse. #BreakingCodeSilence
While we appreciate the platform @1a gave to #BreakingCodeSilence, how parents feel after their kids are sent into the #TTI is not as important as the voices of the millions of survivors who struggle to cope every day with the trauma inflicted on them there.
@KatherineLewis @1a @kenneth_rosen @ParisHilton For years, youth have told us that however serious their challenges, this industry is not solution. Community based access to mh svcs, fed regulation of restraint, seclusion and residential licensure and believing youth will help us find positive solutions. #breakingcodesilence
What a powerful, persuasive @1a episode exposing this terrible industry & abuse of children. @SenSaraGelser @kenneth_rosen @ParisHilton thank you for your important work. There are better ways: Fund community mental health, support families, outpatient care. #breakingcodesilence
I am a writer who is interested in hearing from anyone with experience of wilderness therapy camps, troubled teen programmes or assisted transportations. DM if you are happy to and share your experiences. Confidentiality respected. #breakingcodesilence #iseeyousurvivor
1/ Ahead of my appearance on @NPR's @1A at 11 a.m. EST today, alongside @NATSAPDC @ParisHilton @SenSaraGelser and voices from parents, industry experts and watchdogs, and former clients, I'd like to address some of the responses I've gotten since TROUBLED published two weeks ago.
@MollySkyeBrown @Iamclford2121 @KimberlyESowel1 There's such a great potential to create hashtag library as tool to open understanding if not sabotaged!
Easy to sabotage/thwart it if there's not a small dedicated & thoughtful group able to remain united to orchestrate such library of knowledge,
linked by "certified" hashtags!
All #troubledteenindustrysurvivors and current victims NEED @SenSaraGelser and @BreakingCodeSi1 and @ParisHilton (and imo @KimKardashian ) to form an alliance and #reform the #troubledteenindustry with regulation and oversight. We ARE #breakingcodesilence 🙌
